The Forza Motorsport brand has been around for a while, first released in 2005 on the original Xbox as a competitor to the Gran Turismo series. The racing simulator showcased the technical of elements racing and was well received, spawning several sequels across multiple console generations.
For me, it showcased the fun of racing.
Enter Forza Horizon, a 2012 spin-off series built around the concept of a racing festival with all the mechanics of the Motorsport series with one key difference for me, it showcased the fun of racing. The open-world racer featured casual street races that evolved through the follow-up games to become more varied, along with over-the-top spectacle Showcase events that see players racing planes, trains and more. This paired with a amazing soundtrack of various in-game radio stations and vibrant visuals across the series’ unique destinations make for an exciting journey every time.
I’ve included some screenshots of the latest games to highlight just how damn pretty these games are. With the latest expansion for Forza Horizon 5 just having launched, I can’t wait to get back to just having crazy amounts of fun racing.
